India’s first Seaplane service from Sabarmati riverfront to Statue of Unity. This seaplane starts from Oct 31st. The aerial distance between Ahmedabad and Kevadia is 200 kilometers approximately. It will take around 45 minutes to cover the distance.

At first, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, will officially take the inaugural flight on October 31.

India’s first Seaplane service

This first seaplane of India landed at Kochi lake in Kochi for its refueling, just ahead of its inauguration in Gujarat soon.

This seaplane connects Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad to Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Narmada landed in Kochi from Male, Maldives. And, this 19-seater seaplane is likely to accommodate 12 passengers at the cost of Rs. 4,800/- per person in fact.

Why October 31st?

Most importantly, during the occasion of 146th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on October 31st, Prime Minister Naredra Modi will launch this seaplane. In the meantime, the seaplane will reach Gujarat.

The Honorable Prime Minister of India gave two visionary and great projects to the nation, namely the Sabarmati riverfront and the Statue Of Unity.

This plane’s introduction is under the Regional Connectivity Scheme….

Central government introduces this plane under the regional connectivity scheme between Sabarmati riverfront and the statue of Unity. Similarly, the tourists will use this seaplane to fly between the Sabarmati riverfront and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Statue of Unity, Gujarat.

Earlier, the aircraft landed safely in Venduruthy channel for a transit halt. The seaplane will takeoff from Male, Maldives for Kevadia.

Next, It is about to reach Ahmedabad on Monday for the inaugural services in India. Most importantly, India’s first seaplane service will be launched in Ahmedabad between Sabarmati riverfront and the Statue of Unity, Narmada district.

  • The aerial distance between Kevadia and Ahmedabad is 200 kilometers approximately.
  • It will take around 45 minutes to cover that distance.
  • The 19-seater seaplane likely to accommodate 12 passengers at the cost of Rs.4,800/- per person.
  • It is available for 4 times during day to visit the two great projects.

M/s SpiceJet Technic registered this plane

This 19-seater seaplane indeed is the Twin Otter 300. M/s Spicejet Technic registered it. SpiceJet will operate this seaplane.

Let’s see what did the Defense Spokesperson say about this plane..

A representative from defense said,” the seaplane will not only be provided aid with berthing facility, but also refueling at Navel Jetty for its forth journey.”

He said, “Generally, seaplanes are a natural choice of connectivity between mainland and Lakshadweep islands.” He also said that the inland water channels in Kochi offer a suitable space for seaplanes to land takeoff.

SpiceJet’s representatives, Indian Navy, Cochin International Airport Ltd. and the district administration is there to supervise the transit halt in particular.
