Puducherry reserves 10 % MBBS seats for Govt school students : The Government of Puducherry has decided to allot a 10 percent quota for Government school students in medical courses from this year.
In view of, NEET 2020 result has been declared by NTA. Further, the Puducherry Government has decided to reserve a 10 percent internal reservation for students of Government Schools in MBBS courses. Only, for those who have cleared the NEET this year.
Why Puducherry reserves 10 % MBBS seats
Chief Minister of Puducherry has also declared that during 2018-19 only 94 students from Government Schools had cleared the NEET. On the other hand, 1346 students from Private Schools had gain triumphant in the NEET. In fact, out of them only 16 students from Govt schools could get admission into medical courses.
Moreover, 243 students from Private Schools could join the medical course. So that his Government makes the 10 percent quota necessary to Govt school students.
According to Government of Puducherry this 10% quota of MBBS seats motivates the Govt school students towards medical courses.
What is the next step of Puducherry ?
Chief Minister of Puducherry V.Narayana Swamy, after a cabinet meeting, had announced this 10% quota issue. While the press meeting, the Chief Minister said that his Govt has decided to allocate 10% reservation for Govt school students in medical courses through an order.
And also he revealed that the file related to this 10% quota had been sent to the approval of Lt Governor Kiran Bedi.
Further, the Chief Minister said that in the case of Lt Governor did not approve of this proposal. Undoubtedly, his Government itself fight for the quota of 10% to Govt School students in Medical courses.
What are the consequences of 10% quota for the Govt School student in MBBS course?
Nowadays, education becomes commercial in the private sector. Since very high fees become not affordable to even middle-class families also.

Thus, some professional courses like MBBS become the courses of rich. Under these circumstances, the move of the Puducherry reserves 10 % MBBS seats to Govt school students. Surely, encourages and strengthens the Government Schools.
