Vivo is set to launch a new smartphone in India on September 26, an Amazon teaser reveals. The smartphone maker is yet to reveal the name of the phone, but going by the rumours, looks like it is going to be the V9 Pro. The Amazon teaser has already revealed a lot about the smartphone and taking into consideration the specs of the with the V9 Pro, Vivo will be looking to take on the likes of Oppo Realme 2 Pro, which is set to hit the Indian shores on August 27.
Update: The chances of Vivo launching the V9 Pro are high. The Vivo V9 launch in India will happen on the dedicated page of Amazon India. As for the pricing, the V9 Pro is said to cost under Rs 20,000 and the phone will be available from October onwards. The exact sale date is yet to be announced by the company yet.
The V9 Pro is a brand new smartphone from the company, meaning it hasn’t been launched in any market as of yet. The V9 Pro will be a bigger version of the V9. This also means that India could be one of the first countries to get the V9 Pro. The Amazon teaser has revealed that the upcoming Vivo phone will come with a massive screen. The phone is teased to sport a 6.3-inch Fullview display 2.0, which Vivo claims will offer “a perfect view for enhanced experience.”
The Amazon teaser has also confirmed that the upcoming Vivo phone or (possibly) the V9 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 660 AIE (Artificial intelligence engine) chipset paired with 6GB RAM, similar to what we will also find inside the yet-to-be-launched Realme 2 Pro. The V11 Pro which is priced Rs 25,990 also comes packed with Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset and 6GB RAM. The teaser also claims that the Vivo phone will be capable of tackling multitasking with ease. Vivo hasn’t revealed any further details about the upcoming smartphone.
The pricing of the phone is still a mystery, but what we know for sure is that the V9 Pro will be positioned below the Vivo V11 Pro. According to an IANS report from last week, the V9 Pro will be priced under Rs 20,000. Considering the V11 Pro comes with a price tag of Rs 25,990, an under Rs 20,000 price for the V9 Pro could make the phone one of the best in this price segment. By pricing the V9 Pro under RS 20,000, Vivo could aim to take on the likes of phones like Mi A2, Realme 2 Pro, Nokia 6.1 Plus, among others.
Besides the already confirmed specs, rumours suggest that the V9 Pro will come with dual cameras with a primary sensor of a 16MP and secondary sensor of 5MP. On the front, the phone is expected to sport a 24MP selfie shooter. Some rumours also reveal that the V9 Pro will come with a 3260mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
